Red lanterns, Assorted shapes and sizes
Small dowels, ¼” inch in diameter
Red ribbon, 2” wide
Straight pins

Hot glue gun
Scissors

1. Assemble paper lantern according to directions on package.
2. Using the dowel as a mold, wrap ribbon around dowel about 4” in length. Hot glue ribbon to itself to create body of butterfly. Remove dowel.
3. Cut twig to size of bug. Secure using hot glue to create “backbone” of butterfly.
4. Cut piece of ribbon, tying knot in middle of ribbon. Tie bow to create wings of butterfly. Attach to backbone of butterfly using hot glue.
5. Create antenna using straight pins. Attach to paper lantern using glue on underside.
